Some of the terms we use may need to be defined for those not familiar with the people Hope for the Rejected reaches:

SUBCULTURE
A group of people exhibiting behaviors and characteristics that distinguish them from others within a society.

UNDERGROUND
The general term for types of people who don’t fit into mainstream society.
Underground people dislike being called “fringe” or “alternative”

FRINGE
Fringe has become its own classification of people who are in-between the Underground and Mainstream cultures but don’t subscribe to either culture.

SCENE
A subcultural community.

SHOW
A concert run by local promoters that are held in bars, VFW halls, community centers, churches, etc.
